Beringer Blass Wine Estates, a global leader in premium wine, retained BrandClarity to develop a brand and packaging for a new line of red wines. Beringer wanted the brand to express the wine’s rich, intense flavors as well as convey the history of their Asti winery. BrandClarity worked with Beringer to develop the name Cellar No.8TM with packaging to complement the new identity. The name was created as a reference to the actual cellar where wine is stored on the Asti grounds, providing the wine with strength and a unique history. On the same continuum, the wine’s packaging was designed to create a distinctive identity that communicates the craftsmanship of the winemaker. The label’s handcrafted appearance was achieved by using a scripted font and a “parchment style” background, as the boldness of the red “8” conveys the strength and intensity of the wine.
