A diversified global communications company, 3M applies its technologies to serve an endless array of consumers’ needs. Pursuing constant innovation alongside with creating new intelligence and products, 3M contacted BrandClarity to study growth strategies for Post-it® products potentially creating a new retail category. With a specific demographic in mind, 3M and our Research Team developed a Consumer Insights research project based upon the client’s needs. Our Research Team then generated a mock shopping experience centered around consumers’ perceptions of the Post-it® brand. New Post-it® designs, shelf displays, possible brand extensions, and reactions to competitors’ brands were all examined in this study. Through an in-depth analysis of the behavioral observations and attitudinal interviews, BrandClarity reccommended ways to approach novel areas for expansion by being attentive to consumers’ reactions to new 3M products.
