PPG Industries, a leading global manufacturer, retained BrandClarity to develop a name and create a visual identity for their revolutionary lens material. The new lens offers a unique combination of superior optics, maximum impact resistance and ultra-light weight, a combination that has never been found in a single material. PPG desired a name that sounded premium and was suggestive of the key characteristics of the offering. BrandClarity developed the name TrivexTM to describe the three elements of the lens, providing a breakthrough in technology that delivers the most comprehensive performance of any lens material currently manufactured. The visual brand successfully conveys the tri-fold benefit of the product and positions it in the lense industry.
